Understanding Social Problems Feminine Traits and Characteristics

Question: Why is there social disapproval for men to have feminine traits and characteristics? Is there similar disapproval for women who have masculine traits and characteristics? Why or why not? Are men more restricted by their gender role than women are? If men in our society, and throughout the world, had more traits and characteristics traditionally defined as feminine, what would the effects be on the following social problems? Answer: The presence of feminine traits and characteristics in male individuals, and its effect on the social concerns War and Global Conflict The individuals with feminine characteristics always faced dangers at times of War and Global conflict. Many homosexuals and lesbians were killed due to the laws imposed on by the government. The rates of brutal murder and abnormal sadist behaviours enhanced at an alarming rate. In the war field, they may struggle due to nervousness, less masculine power and anxiety. In terms of global conflict, the universal acceptance of homosexuality and individuals with feminine characteristics are a debatable topic in relation to freedom of speech and expression. Crime and Violence Crime and violence have its application in the context of same sex relationships. The number of homosexual murderers have enhanced over the years, as many homophobes are hidden homosexuals. The individuals with feminine characteristics could be sadist criminals who could take out their frustration through brutal assassinations (Xu Zheng, 2015). Multiple stabbing of persons and hitting an individual with stones repeatedly, usually refer to sadist criminal offence. The female-oriented males are usually on the receiving ends. However, when they express their brutality it could lead to disastrous results. Domestic Violence and Abuse Domestic Violence and Abuse is an integral public health issue that has rattled the society on numerous occasions. The primary areas of domestic violence and abuse usually comprise off mentally challenging and harmful behaviours that could create immense pressure on individuals with feminine characteristics (Shields Carroll, 2014). Physical, psychic and emotional tortures on individuals could also affect the mental stability of individuals. The individuals with feminine characteristics also receive torture at the hands of male in terms of sexual violence. They usually have less morale support and therefore, individuals having feminine mentality are unable to express their issues. Divorce In the contemporary scenario, Men with feminine traits and characteristics are luckier in love relationships, as women are more attracted to men with feminine qualities, rather than masculine qualities. The women usually prefer feminine shaped faces and darker skin. In contrast, males always prefer feminine girls with plump lips and wide eyes. Furthermore male with feminine characteristics tend to be more loyal and adjustable by nature. Therefore, chances of divorce are comparatively less as compared to men with muscular faces. Teenage and unmarried childbearing Individuals with feminine characteristics face many unique challenges before attending the adult suffrage. The teenage individuals are exposed to various layers of stress, anxiety, depression, fear and isolation from their relative society. Family acceptance and a friendly approach from other individuals would allow the teenagers to express their issues in a free manner (Venn-Brown, 2015). However, they have always shown sympathy towards women with unmarried child bearing. Females trust individuals with feminine characteristics and therefore, they feel free to express their complexities and stories of hardship to the individuals falling under this category. Physical and Mental Health While the men with feminine characteristics comprise of a diverse culture and population, the shared experience of discrimination acts as a catalyst for enhancing health issues in them. The individuals usually find it a difficult task to get social acceptance in society. Acts of physical torture and verbal abuse also affects the health of individuals with feminine characters to an extent. Majority of the population are heterosexual by nature and therefore, the constant pressure of handling acceptance issues may give birth to health and mental issues in individuals. Homophobia, discrimination against gay and anti-gay violence Homophobias usually refer to hatred or fear of homosexuals, in relation to violence and expressions of hostility. Homophobia sometimes makes an individual feel superior to homosexuals. However, the major chunk of individuals physically abuse or mentally humiliate men with feminine characteristics. Homophobes may turn out to be hidden homosexuals. The homosexuals are usually segregated from the normal lifestyles, as they are prone to physical and mental violence. Violence against homosexuals is considered as a punishable offence by the law. The violence treated as criminal offence usually comprise off assault, mobbing, intimidation and attempt to murder cases due to psychological torture on this community. Gender inequality Gender biasness is a common concern for individuals over the years. The masculine community have always dominated the feminine community, as individuals live in a patriarchal society. Individuals with feminine characteristics get preference from the female community at an optimum level (Hiller, 2014).
